Recent Work

Over the last twenty years Chris has worked primarily in tableware. He creates high fired stoneware and porcelain pieces using traditional tenmoku, celadon and chun glazes. More recently he has expanded his palette to include whites, blacks, oranges and pinks.

Raku

After starting pottery working on stoneware Chris became interested in raku firing. Learning the basics at a workshop in New Zealand he started exploring copper matt glazes in the raku kiln. Over ten years Chris developed and refined ceramic forms to act as a canvas for his copper matt glaze. While Chris continues to teach raku his focus is now on stoneware and tableware.
